Description

This coin in the shape of the Great Sphinx of Tanis perfectly reproduces the statue in the Louvre Museum. The mention “1822-2022” refers to the 200-year anniversary of the deciphering of hieroglyphs. The reverse of the coin represents the case of the divine worshiper Chépénoupet. In the central axis is represented the statue of the god Amon who watches over the young Tutankhamun. The pyramid, a timeless link between yesterday's and today's heritage, adorns the underside of the reverse and proudly displays Tutankhamun's cartouches.
